Volunteer

Volunteer

ECPA volunteers play an integral role in bringing our events to life!  Contribute alongside friends, neighbors, leaders your community, and lovers of the performing arts to make a difference.

Who are our Volunteers?

You!

Our volunteers are students, seniors, professionals, parents, and anyone who wants to give back, make connections, and support the performing arts. No special background or experience is needed. If you care about creativity and community, there’s a place for you at ECPA.

Benefits of Volunteering:

  • Be part of building a cultural legacy for Elmhurst and DuPage County
  • Meet artists, patrons, and fellow volunteers
  • Earn service hours (we happily verify them for students)
  • Learn new skills or lend your expertise in areas like events, outreach, or administration
  • Help shape the future of performing arts in your community

How do I become a Volunteer?

It’s easy.

Just send us an email at [email protected] and tell us a little about yourself. We’ll get you plugged in based on your interests and availability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What do ECPA volunteers do?

Volunteers support events, assist with check-in and hospitality, help with community outreach, and provide support behind the scenes. If you have a special skill or interest, like IT, communications, or organization, we’ll find a meaningful way for you to contribute. We even need a volunteer to help coordinate other volunteers.

What is the time committment?

We’d love to find a few dedicated volunteers who can give 2 hours, twice a week, especially those interested in taking on a specific role like volunteer coordinator, project manager, or office support. But we also know life is busy. You can help out per event, pitch in on special projects, or volunteer seasonally when it works for you. Every bit makes a difference.

How do I sign up with a company or my organization?

Group and corporate volunteer opportunities are welcome. Email us to get started: [email protected].

Must I be 18 to volunteer?

If you’re old enough to care and young enough to care a lot, we’d love to have you. Most of our volunteers are 18 or older, but younger volunteers are welcome too, we just ask for parental permission.

Encore Center for Performing Arts is grateful to be featured in Elmhurst Magazine in the powerful article “A Song Can Save a Life,” written by Laura Michaud and Melissa G. Wilson.

The article explores the deeply personal and healing work of Freedom Sings USA, a nonprofit organization that connects veterans with professional songwriters to help transform their experiences into music.

Through storytelling and song, Freedom Sings USA creates opportunities for veterans to share experiences that are often difficult to express through words alone. The article highlights how music can foster connection, reflection, healing, and hope for veterans, their families, and the broader community.

As shared in the article:

“Music is good medicine.”

Encore Center for Performing Arts is proud to help bring this meaningful program to Elmhurst and honored to support an experience that uplifts the voices and stories of those who have served.

We sincerely thank Elmhurst Magazine along with authors Laura Michaud and Melissa G. Wilson for helping share the mission and impact of Freedom Sings USA with the community. View the full issue of Elmhurst Magazine.

Encore Center for Performing Arts is honored to be featured in the latest issue of Elmhurst Magazine in an article highlighting Freedom Sings USA and its upcoming visit to Elmhurst.

The article, “A Song of Sacrifice: Local veterans to share their stories through music,” written by Anna Hughes, explores how Freedom Sings USA pairs veterans with professional Nashville songwriters to transform personal stories into original songs through the power of music and storytelling.

The feature also highlights Encore Center for Performing Arts’ partnership in bringing this meaningful experience to the Elmhurst community during America’s 250th anniversary year.

We are grateful to Elmhurst Magazine and author Anna Hughes for sharing the stories and mission behind this unique event and for helping spotlight the healing power of music, connection, and community.
