Encore Center for Performing Arts is grateful to be featured in Elmhurst Magazine in the powerful article “A Song Can Save a Life,” written by Laura Michaud and Melissa G. Wilson.

The article explores the deeply personal and healing work of Freedom Sings USA, a nonprofit organization that connects veterans with professional songwriters to help transform their experiences into music.

Through storytelling and song, Freedom Sings USA creates opportunities for veterans to share experiences that are often difficult to express through words alone. The article highlights how music can foster connection, reflection, healing, and hope for veterans, their families, and the broader community.

As shared in the article:

“Music is good medicine.”

Encore Center for Performing Arts is proud to help bring this meaningful program to Elmhurst and honored to support an experience that uplifts the voices and stories of those who have served.

We sincerely thank Elmhurst Magazine along with authors Laura Michaud and Melissa G. Wilson for helping share the mission and impact of Freedom Sings USA with the community. View the full issue of Elmhurst Magazine.
